FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is DentAssurance?

DentAssurance is a movement initiated to make world-class oral care available to everyone. From Solapur we run the Solapur CBCT Centre, report CBCT scans for dentists across India and the USA, and offer guided implants (IPS), smile simulations, second opinions and CBCT training.

How long does a CBCT report take?

Reports are usually ready within 3 to 24 hours of submitting a case. Urgent cases are prioritised.

How experienced is your reporting team?

We have more than 10 years of CBCT reading and reporting experience, for more than 10 CBCT centres and hundreds of dentists across multiple states in India and the USA.

Which CBCT machine does Solapur CBCT Centre use?

The Carestream CS 9600: high-resolution, low-dose dental and ENT scans with a slice thickness of 75 microns, plus metal artefact reduction (CS MAR) and a low dose mode.

Who can sign up for online reporting?

Practising dentists (for reports and surgical guides) and radiologists. Our team checks your dental council registration and approves your account. Patients can also sign up to ask for a second opinion.

Which scans can I send?

CBCT scans as DICOM files from any machine (a folder, a single file or a ZIP). 2D radiographs can be attached as DICOM, JPEG or PNG.

What is a smile simulation?

A digital design of how your smile could look after treatment. Send a full-face photo with a wide smile and a retracted-cheek photo. It costs ₹200 per patient.

How is patient data protected?

Personal details and reports are encrypted, and only the referring dentist, the assigned radiologist and DentAssurance administrators can see a case. Scans are kept for 6 months.

Which files can I upload?

DICOM files from any CBCT machine: a folder of .dcm files, a single multi-frame file, or a ZIP of either. Reports cover scans from different manufacturers.

Can I view the scan myself?

Yes. Every case has a browser-based viewer with axial, coronal and sagittal slices, measurement tools and a 3D view.

Can a report be corrected after it's issued?

Yes. Reports are written online, so corrections are quick. Every change is kept as a new version.

Can I join the advanced course directly?

No. The advanced module is only available to participants who have completed the basic module.

Is a CBCT scan safe?

The CS 9600's low dose mode follows the ALARA principle and delivers 3D images at a significantly lower dose than 2D panoramic imaging.

Can the same CBCT be used for reporting and IPS planning?

Yes. Contact us to arrange both from one scan.

How much does it cost?

₹200 per patient.

Do I have to get treated at DentAssurance afterwards?

No. Once the condition is clearly understood, you are free to choose where and how you proceed with treatment.

My upload stopped halfway. What now?

Open the case again and re-upload. Files that already arrived are recognised and skipped.

Can I add more images after submitting?

Yes, until the radiologist starts reading. After that, contact us and we'll reopen the case.

Can I print the report?

Yes. Every report has a print view that is formatted for A4 and can be saved as PDF from your browser.

Do you share data with anyone?

No. Case data is only visible to you, the radiologist assigned to the case, and DentAssurance administrators.
